THEY were denied a voice for months. When their chance to speak arrived, Clifton residents were determined to seize it - only to be silenced again, by a venue too small to accommodate them.
Councillors were right to postpone the debate about relocating the Arc Light homeless centre to Shipton Street School. The council had planned the move behind closed doors. To have gone ahead and discussed it with more than 100 concerned residents shut out would have compounded the blunder.
Now a new venue must be found, with the room to accommodate everyone who wants a say. Is Clifton's KitKat Crescent free?
