Welsh Emperor can rule the roost tomorrow at Beverley's final meeting of the season.

Tom Tate's stablestar goes for the Violet And Eddie Smith Memorial Conditions Stakes over five furlongs and I fancy Tony Culhane's mount will make a bold bid.

Last week's meeting at Beverley was run on quick going, which would not have suited him. But the forecast for the course tomorrow is that the ground will be good to soft, good in places. If that proves correct, mud-loving Welsh Emperor will be in his element.

A horse who has won at up to seven furlongs, Welsh Emperor has enough speed for the minimum trip, provided the ground is on the easy side.

Hotham, running over the same distance, is another for the shortlist. Henry Candy's juvenile, who finished third on his debut, ran another good race in defeat when sixth to Princess Cleo at Doncaster recently.

Reverting to the minimum distance in tomorrow's Book Your Jingle Jive Place Now Novice Stakes, Hotham can make the most of his high draw. With Dane O'Neill in the saddle, he is awarded my Nap vote to make it third time lucky.

Monday's tips:

Beverley

2.10 Satin Rose, 2.40 Hotham (Nap), 3.15 Welsh Emperor, 3.50 Efidium, 4.25 Saif Sareea, 5.00 Itqaan.

Tom O'Ryan's Nap for this afternoon's racing was Able Mind (4.20 at Carlisle).

Tomorrow's other meeting is at Brighton.
