Champions Dringhouses reclaimed top spot in the Leeper Hare York and District Football League premier division after beating Pocklington Town 6-1 with four of their goals coming from Mark Woodward.

Shane Laverack and David Watson completed the scoring for 'Houses.

Bishopthorpe slipped from pole position after they shared the points following a 1-1 draw at York St John's College, where Michael Firek put the students in front on 70 mins.

Nestl Rowntree retain third position after winning at Copmanthorpe 2-1. Both Rowntrees goals came in the first half through Steve Blake and James Bonarious with Terry Hibbert reducing the deficit in the second half. That's the third consecutive league meeting between these sides that has finished 2-1 to Rowntrees.

Malton Bacon Factory have now gone seven home games without a win following their 2-0 home defeat to Wigginton.

Tockwith opened their division one campaign with a 3-0 win at Hamilton Panthers with Gregg Hutchinson hitting all three goals. Stamford Bridge beat Heslington for the second time within a week, with Jamie Rankin scoring the only goal of the game.

Norwich Union triumphed over Post Office for the first time in five league meetings as they won 3-0 with goals from Roger Osbourne, Matt Deveraux and Matt Hilden.

All the goals at Ouseburn came after the break as Richard Dwight and Darren Horsfield netted for the home side while David Holmes scored for New Earswick.

Easingwold snatched a point with virtually the last kick of the game as they drew 3-3 at home to Amotherby. Tom Moorcroft opened the scoring for the visitors but Mick Raper equalised before the break, but goals from Danny Cass and Chris Smales put Amotherby in front again. In the final quarter of the game Andrew Metcalf (jnr) made it 3-2 and then Andrew Metcalfe (snr) came off the bench and with his first touch scored to share the spoils.

Riccall have amassed 15 goals in their opening two fixtures in division two following their 8-2 mauling of Civil Service with goals from Jack Rogers (3) Jason Roughley (2) Craig Lee, Stuart Winter and Andy Northern. Richard Burrows and Alistair Burns replied for Civil Service.

York RI were also among the goals as they hit six in the second half to beat Barmby Moor 8-1. Lee Dutton top-scored with four with a goal each for Liam Kellaham, Rob Saunders, Shaun Stockdale and Mick 0'Shaunesey. Martin Peacock hit Barmby's lone reply.

Poppleton opened their season with a 2-1 win at Fulford with goals from Steve Sacks and Dave Pickles, while Graham Nichol responded for Fulford.

In division three, Norton came from three goals down to win 4-3 at home to Rawcliffe. Chris Seager (2) led the revival with their other goals from Martin Johnstone and Wayne Heselwood.

Bishop Wilton staged a fight-back at home to Strensall. Mick Pipe, Matty Brown and Mathew Gomm had given the visitors a comfortable lead but the hosts rallied with goals from Joby Wilson and Mark Blenkin before going down 3-2.

Tamin Sheris put Heworth in front at LNER Builders before Andy Tomlinson cancelled it out. Ben Branigan restored the lead for Heworth and Steve Crosby levelled again but Dan Walters hit the winner for Heworth in the 90th minute.
