YORK City Knights fans will hail their heroes on Saturday during an open-top bus parade through the city centre.

The champions will leave Clarence Street at 12.45pm to arrive in St Helen's Square at approximately 1.15pm when they will be welcomed by the Lord Mayor of York, Coun Janet Greenwood for a civic reception on behalf of the city.

The route will take them from the former York rugby league home along Gillygate, St Leonard's Place and Blake Street to St Helen's Square where hundreds of fans are expected to cheer the players, staff and National League 2 trophy home.

Lee Jackson (pictured right) will end his career tonight against Sheffield Eagles at the Don Valley Stadium (8pm kick-off) as captain for the day.

The 36-year-old hooker postponed his retirement after the grand final defeat last year but will definitely hang his boots up after tonight's last game of the championship-winning season.

Scott Rhodes has been rotated into the half backs with Paul Thorman given a rest, while the fresh-legged Jonny Liddell has been drafted in ahead of Lee Paterson meaning no chance for try-less Paterson to break his duck.
