MANY football fans share John Wheatcroft's analysis (Evening Press, September 2) of what's gone wrong with the top levels of modern British football but don't want to do what he has done, and just abandon the game to the money men and sycophants.
Many are working with us in the Football Supporters' Federation to "reclaim our game". Why not join us, John ?
It is a great pity that his only mention of York City was an anecdote several years old about a player who wouldn't play in a testimonial.
City is now owned by its fans, who, after a heroic fight, wonderfully supported by the Evening Press, saved the club. It is now restoring some of the values of a decent community club which John Wheatcroft supports.
