Josh Room was the hero for Wilberfoss after clean bowling all eight of Stillington's victims in division three.

The eight fell in an outstanding 18-over spell which cost him a mere 29 runs.

Despite his memorable performance, Stillington were still able to make 154-8 thanks to a concentrated effort by Barry Milburn, who batted throughout the innings to remain unbowed with 81 not out.

But after an early loss, Geoff Room with 62no and Dave Chaplin (55no) put together an unbroken 130-run partnership to gain a nine wicket win for their side.

There was a rush of runs at Clifton Alliance where a home total of 275 all out was severely threatened by a fine batting display by Malton & Old Malton.

Clifton's innings had an early sense of urgency as Simon Corley rattled 71 off 75 balls and maintained a good momentum via Matt Phillips and Alistair Wray, who each made 27 before the accelerator pedal was pressed by Paul Walton, who hit 74 off just 52 deliveries.

In among the leather hunting, Malton's Chris Brigham was able to grab 6-61.

When Malton pursued, David Bradshaw belted 12 fours in an excellent knock which saw him make 104. Brigham chipped in with 27. while Shane Bonsor's 68 kept the visitors well in the hunt until Dave Heartshornes's 3-52 clipped Malton's wings to leave them with a draw at 255-8.

Easingwold gave their chances of avoiding relegation a big boost when they totally outplayed a Yapham side, who are now facing an Everest-type task if they are to avoid the drop.

Tom Langstaff (65) and Gary Sanders (52) established Easingwold's supremacy at an early stage, then Tom Banks with 39no and Richard Jones (37) enabled Easingwold to declare at 200-3 after 42 overs.

Yapham made a steady if unspectacular start as they reached 32-1, but were then totally mesmerized by a double leg-spin attack which saw them collapse dramatically to 53 all out in 32 overs.

The spinning wizardry came from Keith Hollinrake, who took 5-17 in 9.4 overs and Mike Roberts, whose 3-12 came off 11 overs.
