AT last a positive angle on the subject of the geese in Rowntree Park (Soapbox, August 4).
I use the park regularly, living next to it, and although there is a problem with the "goose poo", Sarah Bramley is correct in what she says - the geese aren't only in the park, they live on the river and other areas of the city too.
However, I do think the council isn't doing too well with egg spraying in other areas.
I work at the Castle Museum and there are far too many goslings this year, far more than last year. It's a shame they haven't managed to keep down the numbers here.
A number of geese are suffering injuries because of the sheer volume of them.
I think the council could do better with this problem. Ideally if each pair of birds were only allowed one gosling per family, numbers would decline eventually.
On a final note on this subject, I quote my neighbour, "after all, they are all God's creatures".
