More terrific deals this week as tour operators try to entice holidaymakers to book.

Their message is clear - please do not let the terrorists stop you from travelling, especially to London.

As more and more people cancel their trips to the capital, Orient-Express Northern Belle has slashed its prices for the excursion to the Palace of Westminster on August 10.

The cost of this fabulous day out was £235 per person, but if you buy one ticket you will now receive a second for half price.

Travelling in luxury from York or Leeds, you will enjoy a three-course bucks fizz brunch on the outward journey with tea and coffee. Once in London you will be transferred by coach to the Palace of Westminster with guided tour included. You will be welcomed back on board the train with a glass of champagne and reflect on your day as you sit back, relax and savour the table canaps, a sumptuous four-course dinner with a half bottle of wine, coffee and petit fours.

Orient-Express has also reduced its price on the luxury evening dinner excursion on Thursday, September 29, because of cancellations. Once again travelling from York or Leeds, this four-hour countryside excursion now costs £120 per person, a saving of £60. The price includes a glass of champagne, table canaps, four-course dinner with a half bottle of wine per person, coffee and petit fours.

Another tour operator to slash its prices is Newmarket Promotions. The pricebuster to Sicily holiday on September 17 is an offer not to be missed. Flights are from Leeds Bradford and the amazing price of £299 per person (was £489) includes seven nights bed and breakfast in a three-star hotel. Please note that your accommodation will be allocated on arrival and may not necessarily be one of those featured in the brochure. A half board option is available for £42 per person extra.
