THE granddaddy of Brit blues, who once lived in a tree-house in Macclesfield which was carpeted and wallpapered, the house not the tree, is up to his good tricks again.

At 72 the blueser is still belting out gut-wrenching numbers, 15 on this album, with pride and passion. Highlight of a fine record is the title track which pokes fun at the high-rolling lifestyles of shallow superstars. He uses his music to reflect issues of the day, such as druggies blighting neighbourhoods and tsunamis, which often makes him sound like Mr Angry of Bognor.
