Brian Balejcsik's response to my letter in the Evening Press was way out of line.

I did not state that my knowledge of the situation was non-existent, simply acknowledged the complexities. In any conflict, faults can usually be attributed to both sides.

However, I seriously question Mr Balejcsik's literacy skills, because my letter quite clearly stated that Palestinian and Israeli children deserved to live in a more peaceful world.

I do not accept, in any situation, that mistakes of the past by either side (or in this case also by third parties) can be used to justify present or future aggression.

Politicians and people such as Mr Balejcsik could learn a lot from the children I met, from here and Palestine, who just accept each other as human beings and get on with it.
