A FOOTBALLER was sent for trial before a judge and jury when he appeared before Harrogate magistrates to answer a charge arising out of an incident in which an opponent was injured.
Harrogate Town and former York City striker Ian Blackstone, 33, was committed on bail to York Crown Court where he will appear on March 16.
Blackstone, of West Dene, Pannal Ash Road, Harrogate, is accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm on Nicholas Cranston during a match against Workington Town at Harrogate Town's Wetherby Road ground on October 18. Reporting restrictions were not lifted.
