ROBBO, who has won both his races over hurdles since Mary Reveley acquired him from Chris Thornton, can complete a hat-trick at Kelso tomorrow.

A former successful handicapper on the Flat, Robbo goes for the Glassedin Scottish Juvenile Novices' Hurdle and is considered capable of conceding weight to each of his rivals.

Robbo opened his account over hurdles at Ayr, and although his jumping that day left something to be desired, there was no doubting his superiority.

At Newcastle last time, in stronger company, he produced an improved effort to beat Swing West after striking the front on a tight rein before the final flight.

Robbo is certainly going the right way, and this progressive four-year-old can extend his unbeaten record tomorrow in the hands of Peter Niven.

Reveley and Niven can also lift the Moet & Chandon Handicap Hurdle with Ledgendry Line, tomorrow's nap selection.

This five-year-old, a useful winner on the Flat, has taken well to hurdling and has won two of his three starts this season. Indeed his only defeat came at Ayr in November when he had the misfortune to come up against the high-class French Holly, who has since developed into a leading hope for next month's Cheltenham Festival.

Successful on this course and at Newcastle, Ledgendry Line does not look overburdened in this, his first Handicap. He can add to his score.

Tom Brodie gets the vote in the Rieke Hettrick's Wedding Handicap Chase.

Howard Johnson's consistent gelding gained an overdue first win over fences at Musselburgh recently when beating Arctic Sandy by two lengths. Now that he has finally got his head in front Tom Brodie can win again in the hands of Tony Dobbin.

Micky Hammond and Russ Garritty have a good record on this Borders course and the Middleham partnership can hit the target with Pepitist in the Tote Novices' Chase (Qualifier).

Having missed the whole of last season Pepitist reappeared at Carlisle at the end of December and, on his chasing debut, ran a highly promising race to finish third behind Ingletonian and Prince Of Saints, beaten less than a length. If he can reproduce that form tomorrow he will be hard to beat over this longer distance.

At Towcester, Storm Tiger can swallow up his rivals in the Levy Board Handicap Hurdle.

Others to watch are Moonshine Dancer (1.40) and Saleel (2.40)The Stan Mellor-trained seven-year-old romped home by six lengths from Bend Sable at Windsor 10 days ago.

Because that was a race for conditional riders, Storm Tiger is un-penalised, and will therefore run off the same handicap mark again tomorrow. With Chris Webb again taking the mount, he promises to take all the beating.

Richard Dunwoody does not have too many mounts for the Jenny Pitman stable, and the hint should be taken when the pair unite - as in the case of Saleel in the Michael McManus Novices' Hurdle.

Saleel recently finished a respectable third to Legal Right at Ludlow on his hurdling debut and would have finished closer still had he not clouted the second-last flight. Improvement is expected tomorrow - with Dunwoody on board.

Russell Road can defy a penalty in the Daniel Brazier Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat Race.

David Nicholson's six-year-old got off the mark at the first time of asking over this course and distance seven weeks ago when beating Ardfinnan by half a length. A horse with plenty of scope, he is open to plenty of improvement.
