YORK Rugby Union Club are hoping to be in seventh heaven tomorrow.

They travel to Huddersfield for a crucial North Two game desperate to end a run of six successive losses.

Skipper Dai Lockyer said: "It becomes increasingly important that we break the mould that has produced six defeats in a row.

"It was extremely disappointing to lose in the manner that we did against Halifax and Blackburn and to lose so closely last Saturday to Driffield.

"We are running out of games and still have to face second-placed Blaydon at Clifton Park in two weeks time."

York, who are locked in mid-table with Huddersfield, have back row forward Lee Jones available again and centre Dan Wood is included in a 20-strong squad after being out with a thigh injury.

After last week's heavy defeat at Worcester, Harrogate make two enforced changes for their match against Rugby in Jewson National League division one tomorrow (2.15pm).

Hooker Tom Anderson is injured, and is replaced Jason Field. Wing forward Dean Holder is unavailable, and his place is taken by Steve Baker.

Harrogate will be hoping to avange a 20-13 defeat at Rugby in October.

With the Five Nations Championship getting underway tomorrow, several clubs revert to non-League games, including Selby, who go to Old Crossleyans, a side ranked two leagues higher than the Sandhill Lane outfit.

Andrew Pocklington replaces prop Sam Longthorpe, Kevin Lowery replaces Mark Toy, John Hick plays at lock with John Glancey moving to the bench.

In the backs, Toby Pemberton and Steve Lowery play instead of Carl Patterson and Andrew Bennett.

Pocklington player-coach Gary Pearce misses the trip to Goole to check out the form on Pock's second string, the Panthers.

Medical student Neil Hill, who has been playing with the Army under 21 side for the past fortnight, returns to Pock's backs and Pete Nicholson, a forward, is promoted to the first team squad.

Malton and Norton take on unchanged Ripon at the Gannock with changes in the backs. Chris Wincup is unavailable, so Andy Newsome switches from centre to fly half and Arthur Wilson is drafted into the three-quarter line.

Changes up front see Richard Ellis deputising for Tom Eddie at prop, Matt Rohan replacing the unavailable Steve Hayhurst at prop and Chris Lewis coming in for Dave Knaggs.

Nestle Rowntree and York RI both catch up on league games delayed by the weather.

Manu Fotu (Achilles tendon) and Paul Rimmer (unavailable) are absent so Steve Leeming and Stuart Lewis are called up in the back row and on the wing respectively for RI's home game with Hessle in Yorkshire Three.

James Baldwin and Lee Cummings are absent for Rowntree's trip to Rawmarsh in Yorkshire Five, so Dave Sowray and Chris Lowther have been drafted into action.

A party of 25 Knaresborough players are heading for Amsterdam today for a friendly arranged by former club member Jonty Pitt.

Those not heading to Holland will visit Bramley Phoenix 'A' at second team level.
