Malton trainer Brian Rothwell, who does so well with his small string, can be among the winners at Haydock tomorrow.

Rothwell, who is based at Colin Tinkler's Musley Bank yard, saddles Jacobina in the Lincoln Mild Cigars Handicap and Kevin Darley's mount looks poised to make it third time lucky after having been runner-up in her last two races.

Jacobina had little luck at Newcastle on her latest start. Drawn on the stands side of the course she finished clear of her rivals but had to play second-fiddle to Melodian, who raced up the favoured far side.

Previously a clear second to Cruinn A Bhord in a maiden auction race at Catterick, Jacobina is overdue a win and is awarded the Nap vote.

Gatecrasher can make his presence felt in the £10,000 Chelford Handicap over an extended mile and a quarter.

Trained by the in-form James Fanshawe, Gatecrasher did not see a racecourse last year as a juvenile and has had only two outings this season.

He opened his account in pleasing style on the second of them, a maiden race at Kempton in May, and looks a horse to keep on the right side.

Contesting his first handicap tomorrow and not badly treated off a mark of 82, Gatecrasher is fancied to double his score in the hands of Walter Swinburn.

King Tango, runner-up in all three of his starts to date, can get his head in front in the Lincoln Mild Cigars Maiden Stakes.

Henry Cecil's colt was probably feeling the fast ground when finishing second to his longer-priced stablemate Abi at Pontefract three weeks ago. Reunited with stable jockey Kieren Fallon tomorrow he is worth once more chance on what will be an easier surface.

Conwy Lodge, who ran no sort of race at York last month, finishing last of six to Perugino Bay after being sent off the 6-4 favourite, may have been inconvenienced by the firm ground that day.

Jack Berry's smart colt, twice an impressive winner previously, should not be written off just yet and with soft ground forecast tomorrow, is capable of making a bold show in the Rainhill Nursery Handicap.

At Folkestone, Turtle's Rising can prove too swift for her rivals in the opening EBF Burwash Novice Stakes.

This Brian Meehan-trained two-year-old overcame a poor draw to beat the speedy Sports Road by a short head at Sandown a fortnight ago. With Pat Eddery on board, Turtle's Rising can deliver the goods again here.

Eddery can also click on Forest Fire in the Cheriton Maiden Handicap.

Ben Hanbury's charge has been knocking on the door all summer to no avail, but was far from disgraced when chasing home Tigullio at Lingfield last time. She can go one better in this modest event.

Sure Quest merits attention in the Dungeness Maiden Handicap. David Arbuthnot's filly was beaten less than two lengths into third by Sammy's Shuffle at Brighton last time after losing more than that by rearing up as the stalls opened. Compensation looks likely here.
