Pensioner Frank Stuart has an unusual hobby for someone his age - the 70-year-old just loves to bungee jump.

Over the last year, daredevil Mr Stuart, of Acomb, has taken the plunge for charity on three occasions.

His fourth act of madness, or as he puts it "the most fun thing ever", was at the weekend when he took part in a sponsored bungee jump at the Acorn Rugby League Club, in Thanet Road, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief.

"It's the most wonderful feeling in the world," said Mr Stuart.

"It's like going over a hump-back bridge but ten times quicker - it's exhilarating."

Mr Stuart, a former scaffolding supervisor, has been raising money for the Macmillan nurses since his wife, Pat, died of cancer 10 years ago.

"They really looked after my wife, and I wanted to give the charity something back.

"I've found that bungee jumping raises the most money because people just can't believe that someone of my age is going to do it.

"But I love it and I will keep on doing it for as long as I can."
