Frankie Dettori, who rode two winners at Nottingham yesterday, can capture the major honours at Doncaster tomorrow by lifting the final Group 1 juvenile race of the season.

Dettori teams up with Timahs in the £150,000 Racing Post Trophy and this classy colt, trained by David Loder, whose two-year-olds have an unmatchable record this season, is fancied to take all the beating.

Although he has something to find on paper to win a race of this calibre on only his second outing, Timahs is a horse of immense potential.

A brother of Derby winner Shaamit he made a winning debut at Newmarket last month, showing a fine burst of speed late on to beat Biennale by an impressive one and a half lengths.

Timahs, who showed signs of greenness that day before the penny dropped, is open top considerable improvement as a result of that experience. It is significant that the shrewd Loder is prepared to saddle him in a Group 1 race this early in his career. That hint is worth taking.

Two Clubs deserves every consideration in the DBS Doncaster Stakes.

Julie Cecil's unbeaten dual-winner had to settle for fourth prize in the Comcast Teesside Two-Year-Old Trophy won by Pipalong, at Redcar last Saturday but was unlucky not to finish much closer having lost ground leaving the stalls. He is worth another chance in this Listed race.

The Racing Post Conditions Stakes offers Scottish raider Ho Leng a good opportunity to get back in the winning groove.

Linda Perratt's high-class performer has won valuable races at York and Newmarket this season and was beaten less than two lengths into fourth by Bold Edge over an inadequate six furlongs in a Listed race at HQ last week.

The Doncaster Writers' Handicap over five furlongs gives The Gay Fox a good opportunity to gain an overdue success.

Soft ground is forecast for Newbury, which will prove ideal for Nap selection Therhea in the Furlong Club Rated Handicap.

Rod Millman's admirable consistent charge, a previous winner on this course, finished an excellent second to Roger Ross at Ascot on his latest start. Smart apprentice Paul Doe, who was in the saddle that day, again has the mount tomorrow, claiming a valuable 5lb.

Mother of Pearl gets my vote in the opening Radley Stakes, a Listed race over an extended seven furlongs.

Successful in a Salisbury maiden race on her debut last month Mother of Pearl, a beautifully bred daughter of Sadler's Wells, is open to considerable further improvement. It would be no surprise to see her cope successfully with this step up in class.
