Kieren Fallon, who moved on to 199 winners for the season when scoring on Agiotage at Redcar yesterday, was today denied the chance to reach a double-century for the second successive year when Catterick abandoned its meeting because of a waterlogged course.

Fallon, who jets to the US on Thursday for the Breeders' Cup, has a final opportunity at Musselburgh tomorrow to move onto the 200-winner mark and is fancied to reach his objective on his last day of action in the British turf season.

The former Norton-based jockey has several fancied mounts and can hit the bullseye in the EBF Median Auction Maiden Stakes on Single Shot. The Luca Cumani-trained colt is overdue a win, having finished runner-up in his last three starts.

Beaten only a head by Bring Sweets at Redcar last time, Single Shot can get his head in front here - and provide Fallon with win number 200.

The champion jockey has some other good opportunities, Raneen Nashwan has shown enough in three outings so far to promote his prospects in the EBF Maiden Stakes, while Suez Tornado has a fighting chance in the Ladbroke On-Course Handicap (Div 1).

The latter provided Fallon with his 1,000th ride of the season at Redcar last week when finishing a close fourth to Amron.

Suez Tornado does not win very often but has an excellent chance of hitting the target on this occasion.

The nap vote is awarded to Ile Principe in the featured Ladbroke Musselburgh November Handicap.

John Berry's four-year-old, a prolific winner last season, took time to find his form this term, but came good at Redcar last month and has since finished a creditable eighth in the Cesarewitch from 11lb out of the handicap.

Tomorrow he is set to race off his correct mark over a course and distance where he has been successful in the past. With John Egan in the saddle, he can lift this £10,000 prize.

Tony Culhane has enjoyed a tremendous campaign and the North Yorkshire jockey can take his tally of winners to 77 courtesy of Kathryn's Pet in the Musselburgh Joint Committee Handicap.

A previous course and distance winner here, Kathryn's Pet returned from a long lay-off to finish a creditable fourth to My Learned Friend at Pontefract last month. She has since had another outing over hurdles and should now be back to peak form.

Kempton's jumping meeting sees Lord Khalice bidding to create some sparks by completing a double in the Guy Fawkes Handicap Hurdle. The Geoff Hubbard-trained gelding, winner of his only start last season, scored again on his reappearance 11 days ago at Market Rasen by 12 lengths from What's Your Story. He is a horse with a bright future.

Lambourn trainer Charlie Mann can make his presence felt with the consistent Clifton Set (3.00), while the reappearance of the once-smart Kingdom Of Shades (3.35), who missed the whole of last season, also merits close attention.
