I was interested to read (Evening Press, February 26) of the decision to spend £45,000 of public money on assistants for North Yorkshire County Council's political groups and that this had been branded a "disgrace" by the council's Labour and Independent groups.
The Labour leader is quoted as saying they "had not yet decided what to do with their share of the money." I suggest he looks in last Wednesday's jobs section of the Evening Press which contains an advert for - yes, you've guessed it - a political assistant to the Labour group based at Northallerton.
