Some years ago, Disney produced a film about three pets who undertook a remarkable cross-country expedition. Now Basil the Jack Russell has put in his bid to star in The Incredible Journey II.
When Basil was transferred from the Selby Animal Sanctuary in Hambleton to a new home in Riccall, he missed the old place. So he set off and, without map or compass, successfully completed the seven-mile trek back to the sanctuary.
This is what they mean by dogged determination.
Soon, however, he will be back in Riccall. And although sanctuary workers will wish him well, they must hope this time Basil is dog-gone for good.
