On March 9, St John Ambulance in North Yorkshire launches a recruitment campaign. We urge local people to come and see that St John Ambulance is not just about First Aid, we also have a huge range of volunteering opportunities on offer.
We do provide First Aid cover at local football matches and fairs, but we also run badger and cadet groups for young people, a hospital library service and a carers support project for the elderly.
Those of us who wear a uniform are supported by many others who help in a variety of ways including administration, catering, vehicle maintenance and the upkeep of our headquarters.
Anyone is welcome; everybody has skills we could use.
I have been a volunteer for St John Ambulance for 14 years and it has been a very rewarding experience. To find out more ring the recruitment hotline on 0870 1290 900 or call 01845 522818.
