Plans to watch possible first-team candidates like Martin Garratt and Gordon Connelly were swamped last night.
York City's Pontin's League Cup tie at Stockport County fell to the foul weather, downpours leaving the Edgeley Park pitch flooded.
That proved a setback for manager Alan Little in the push to end City's record of just two points from their last 24 in division Two.
Said Little: "There were one or two I wanted to look at and several of the players needed the run-out as well. But we've just got to get on with it."
Meanwhile, City's youth team will play their fifth round FA Youth Cup tie against West Ham at Bootham Crescent on Tuesday, March, 16, kick-off 7pm, it was confirmed today. Admission will cost £1 for children and pensioners and £3 for adults.
