It's a scene straight from a Kenyan safari - but this rare rhino has made a North Yorkshire field it's home.

It should, however, be noted that this huge beast is made from fibre glass and isn't that keen on moving very much.

The rhino - which many motorists will recognise from the field outside the Flamingo Land Inn on Malton Road - was bought by Murton farmer Graham Wood when the pub was put up for sale.

It has spent the last few months sitting in his field where it is becoming a popular attraction with passers-by.

Farmer Graham Wood said: "I used to go to the pub quite a lot and I am good friends with the owner. When he said he was closing and would I like to have the rhino I jumped at the chance.

"It's just a novelty thing really, but it's starting to get quite a few stares from the public as they drive past."
