Aussie Bob, an unlucky loser at Market Rasen last month, is napped to gain compensation at Bangor tomorrow.

The Sue Smith trained gelding goes for the William Hill Novices' Handicap Hurdle and looks capable of defying top weight.

Aussie Bob looked to have his latest race firmly in the bag until blundering and unseating his rider at the final flight of hurdles.

Previously successful at Wetherby in December, Aussie Bob can register his second victory of the season tomorrow.

Parsons Boy can repeat his success of 12 months ago in the Tilney Investment Management Handicap Chase.

Nicky Richards' long-distance specialist has been running consistently well this term and despite top weight of 12 stone, can provide Tony Dobbin with a winning ride.

Prussia gets my vote in the Wrexham LVA Novices' Handicap Chase.

Bill Clay's eight-year-old has proved a model of consistency this season and although he had luck on his side at Market Rasen last time, looking destined to finish second until Aussie Bob lost his rider at the final flight, he went on to score by 20 lengths. Over fences tomorrow Prussia can add to his tally.

Malcolm Jefferson makes the long journey to Bangor with Caius and this six-year-old has strong claims in the Chirk 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle.

Caius is gradually getting his act together and, far from disgraced when third at Newmarket last week, would not need to improve much to become a winner here.

At Southwell, Maiteamia is fancied to complete a rapid course hat-trick in the Raven Handicap,

The six-year-old ended a long losing run when scoring here last week and promptly followed up yesterday. Out again tomorrow Maiteamia will be re-united with Jimmy Quinn, and another victory looks on the cards.

Prospects for tomorrow's race meeting at Catterick hinged on an inspection this afternoon.

Clerk of the course John Sanderson was pessimistic this morning, saying: "The track is heavy, with standing water in places. Prospects for racing must be slim."

This afternoon's meeting at Sedgefield was abandoned this morning because the course is waterlogged.

Leicester's scheduled meeting this afternoon was called off yesterday.

Bangor's meeting tomorrow is expected to go ahead without any problems.

Clerk of the course Michael Webster said this morning: "It has been very wet and we are going to omit one fence. It is dry now and we should be alright."

The going is described as heavy on the chase course and soft on the hurdles track.
