I agree with Nick Enticknap (Letters, March 11) that an open space in Davygate would have been a Godsend.
But he and other York residents should be warned that this Labour council, through its city centre management, has other plans for Parliament Street apart from being an open space where shoppers and visitors can sit, relax and watch the world go by.
Even more pseudo street markets and unnecessary events are planned for Parliament Street this summer.
So we won't have to worry about finding a vacant seat in the street, it's going to be standing room only!
