It is a pity that in the recently-revised edition of the Highway Code motorists are not given the opportunity of blowing their horn at cyclists who break the law - for example, by riding their machines in the dark without lights.
So many of these lawbreakers can be seen in and around York every day that with such an opportunity, what a cacophony there would be in the city each night.
The lawbreakers would at least then know that their illegal act has been recognised and something might then be done to quieten the place down.
