I wonder how many of your readers have now realised the futility of the UK's association with the European Union following the disgraceful events of the past weeks?

They have shown how corrupt, inefficient and unaccountable are the unelected bureaucrats of the EU to whom we pay billions of pounds each year.

The arrogance of Santer and his commissioners clearly shows that these failed politicians are not to be trusted again and the fraud, which has been allowed to fester until it was highlighted by the EC Internal Auditor, is only the tip of the iceberg.

The huge bureaucratic monster that has been created and acquiesced by all of the UK and European politicians who have consistently hidden the true federalist intentions needs to be dismantled and to allow the European countries to co-operate for example, by means of NATO, GATT, NAFTA and the former EFTA without the strangulation of endless regulations and corruption.

In June the long-suffering public have a chance to register their feelings when the European Parliament elections are due - and to vote for candidates who are euro-sceptic or even completely anti-EU.
