I'M Ardal O'Hanlon - you know me from Father Ted and I'm writing to your readers with a special appeal.
Over the weekend of September 24-25 the charity Scope (formerly the Spastics Society) will be organising a fantastic team event called The Cork Challenge.
They are looking for 70 teams of four volunteers to take part in this two day Irish adventure. It involves taking four cans of beer from England or Wales to The Murphy Brewery in Cork within 24 hours, with only £10 to spend on travel per person.
Most teams go in outrageous fancy dress and this year they get a free camera and are being challenged to collect or photograph Millennium memorabilia on the way. Your readers can call 0500 575 222 for a copy of the information pack.
Scope asks each team to raise a minimum of £1,000 for their work with adults and children with cerebral palsy. In return, each team will have a fantastic weekend of Irish hospitality and fun.
