YORK-BORN dressage rider Mark Ruddock has been selected to represent Great Britain.
Ruddock will compete in the African Team Dressage Championships, to be held at the Expo Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa, on April 5-7.
The championships, which will include teams from Europe and Africa, will be Ruddock's first appearance at international level after several successful seasons on the southern dressage circuit.
Ruddock, 31 and now based in Horne, Surrey, is a former pupil of Huntington School and gained his early riding experience with the Vale of York Pony Club and in local competitions.
He runs a livery yard in Surrey and teaches dressage.
