It was very pleasing to see in the Evening Press a photograph of one of the streets in our area, and to see residents talking and communicating as it should be (April 29).
What one would call community life by camera.
Dale Street, along with Swann Street, was the first to adopt elderly sheltered warden schemes introduced by the council. It was well served by its warden Geoff Beevers, who lived on site and provided a service to many of those residents in years gone by.
It certainly brought back memories to myself and I am sure to other residents.
