I write after reading various articles recently in the Evening Press, about Shambles.

My late mother, Mrs Eveline Mitchell (nee Horseman) was born in the Shambles at number 36, the Margaret Clitherow house, on July 8, 1913. She was born to a John and Lilian Horseman (nee Joft). I have my mother's birth certificate to verify this. She always told me she was born in the very top room, but I have no idea how they came to be living in Shambles because my grandfather, John Horseman, was a ship's carpenter.

I don't know if this information is of any interest to anyone, but I thought I would write to see if the names rang any bells with readers.
