Give An Inch returns to Ayr tomorrow with excellent prospects of proving that lightning can strike in the same place twice.

Twelve months ago Wilf Storey's diminutive four-year-old romped home by a wide margin in the Racing Channel Handicap (for the Elginton & Winton Challenge Cup), which is her target again tomorrow.

Tyrone Williams again takes the mount on Give An Inch, who clearly needed her recent outing at Newcastle after a lengthy absence. That performance - a fourth-placed effort to Fnan - was over two miles on good ground.

Even more emphasis will be placed on stamina tomorrow when Give An Inch tackles a distance of nearly two and a quarter miles on rain-softened ground.

This mud-loving, out-and-out stayer will be in her element and is fancied to score for the second successive year.

Tim Easterby's horses continue to hold their form remarkably well and the Great Habton trainer can lift the September Handicap with Double Action.

The five-year-old is long overdue a win but has plummeted in the weights as a result. He recently confirmed his well-being when finishing third to Redswan on unsuitably fast ground at Doncaster.

Double Action, who relishes an easy surface, will have his ideal conditions tomorrow and is expected to take all the beating.

Easterby can win the opening race, the Grant Dewar Nursery Handicap with Pertemps Fc.

This progressive juvenile overcame trouble in running to win at Beverley on his latest outing. The step up from five furlongs to six tomorrow will suit him even better and he gets my Nap vote.

Julie Camacho's filly Mindanao has progressed steadily all season and can notch her third success by winning the Faucets Fillies' Handicap. Most recently successful at Ripon, Mindanao has the scope for further improvement and this race, confined to her own gender, looks a perfect opportunity for her.
