York field a much changed side against Redcar following last week's disappointing North East One defeat at Old Crossleyans.
Nathan McBride makes a welcome return to York's colours after three seasons contracted to Stirling County in Scotland.
McBride, son of Ron McBride, a former captain and president of York, will play in the centre alongside Sean Bass, who returns after being unavailable last week.
Another player who has returned to York after a number of years away is policeman Nick Smart, who has forced his way into the back-row after a powerful game as substitute last week.
York also welcome back second row forward Steve Humphries who comes into the squad following a two-try performance in the second team.
Former Colt Will Farbrother starts on the wing after a number of impressive displays as substitute.
On the other wing is debutant Jason Wood who is a newcomer to the club this season.
Dave Dorking returns to prop after missing last week's game through injury.
Despite last week's disappointing loss York are going into this game in a confident mood. Redcar, who have former rugby league international Garry Schofield at fly-half, lost last week 11-0 to Beverley who York beat 25-3 the week before.
