First Steps To Freedom is a UK registered charity which has been offering help, advice and support to both sufferers and carers of stress/anxiety disorders such as phobias, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder and those with borderline personality disorder.
We are looking for volunteers within your area to help. They would work from their own home for four hours a week offering help, advice and support via the telephone to both sufferers and carers. We ensure that volunteers have a separate telephone number to ensure safety and privacy.
Full training is given. We are looking for people who preferably have been through an anxiety disorder, but this not essential. The main criteria is that any volunteer should be able to empathise with sufferers and carers and offer a listening ear.
