Decking the halls with boughs of holly just isn't enough for some people.
Rose Lofthouse shows off the impressive display of lights outside her house in Manor Road, Tadcaster
Rose Lofthouse, of Manor Road, Tadcaster, has spent a week and hundreds of pounds turning her bungalow into a winter wonderland - and she's still not finished.
Every window, door and room in her home is festooned with lights, trees, glow-in-the-dark Santas and reindeers, and her display attracts the awe-filled gazes of local children and adults alike.
Rose, a former cleaner at the Evening Press's old building in Coney Street, said she took great pleasure from the decorations.
"But it's the kids I do it for," she said.
"I love to see their faces light up as they go by and look at the decorations.
"And a little lad I'd never met before came up the other day to ask if they could come round on the big day and wish me a merry Christmas."
Despite suffering from arthritis, Rose puts her all into getting the house ready for the festive season - she even stayed up until 5am one morning preparing the house that she shares with her husband, Roy.
Never satisfied, she changes the set-up every year, and is already planning her display for next Christmas.
If you think your decorations can beat Rose's Christmas display, send in a photograph of your house to Christmas Crackers, Evening Press, 76/86 Walmgate, York, YO1 9YN or email to newsdesk@ycp.co.uk
