Kevin Hulme's return to action with York City could be delayed another week.

The midfield enforcer was pencilled in for a comeback in tomorrow's reserve game at Scarborough.

The match is now in doubt due to the state of the pitch at the McCain Stadium, but manager Neil Thompson said it had, in anycase, perhaps come too early for Hulme.

Thompson insisted the former Halifax Town skipper was slightly ahead of schedule in his return to fitness from a hernia operation prior to Christmas but next week's reserve match at home to Wrexham was a more realistic target.

The City manager, who missed City's last two matches with a troubled calf, revealed he has resumed light training but there were no signs of an immediate comeback for midfielder Steve Agnew (ankle) or skipper Chris Fairclough (knee).
