I must respond to the letter from R D Wilson ('Wrong Signal', January 22) for the lack of humanity and understanding expressed therein to those who live on our streets. The recent sad loss of Stacey Brewer serves to remind us of the equally sad losses in recent months of other Evening Press contributors, i.e the late John Potts and Peter Mullen, relocated to a London diocese. May I, through your paper, express my sincere thanks to all those people who have given support to retaining the number plate DN 1 for the city of York? Tough time for tenants

I would like to congratulate the people who took their landlady to court for illegal eviction (January 18).
