A MAN suffered serious head injuries when he was assaulted in York on Saturday night.
Shane Turner was taken to York District Hospital after an argument broke out at midnight outside a take-away van in Exhibition Square and close to a long queue of people at the taxi rank.
York police said the man remains in hospital and his condition is comfortable.
Police are looking for a man in a wheelchair who was seen talking to the two men.
They are also appealing for witnesses to another assault on a man outside Caff Uno in Clifford Street last night.
A man was punched and left unconscious just after 10pm.
The assailant is described as a Mediterranean-looking white male, aged between 38 and 40, with an athletic build and dark spiky greased hair.
