YOUR feature (May 20) on our cycle try-out show at Knavesmire this coming weekend has caused some confusion - through no fault of your own.

We are a York-based cycle publishing company, putting on this international cycling festival for the first time. There is, however, another cycling event at the Knavesmire in June - the Cyclists' Touring Club Rally takes place there every year, and will be more extensive this year, since it is part of the National Cycling Festival. So York is (deservedly) blessed with two cycling festivals!

However, they are fundamentally different. Our show this weekend will probably be smaller than the June event, and will be a try-out opportunity, with a hundred or so bikes of all shapes and sizes to be ridden on two special tracks.

It is therefore mostly on tarmac, and based in and around Knavesmire Exhibition Centre at the Racecourse.

The later National Cycling Festival event takes place on Knavesmire itself, and will be more about cycle touring and mountain bikes.
