WITH respect to Miss C Baker on the question of mobile phone masts (May 24), we here in Hartlepool have had an ongoing debate on the same theme.
The people who kicked up the biggest stink about these masts were the very people who used them from the start: business people who lived in the best end of town but didn't want the masts in their back yard, but had no no objection to them being erected on council estates.
I'm not suggesting that Miss Baker has a phone or has the attitude of the people mentioned.
But you can't have the luxury of mobile phones and not have masts - chuck your phones away and that will solve the problem. Before anyone asks what has it to do with me, my family all belong and still live in the fair city of York.

Kinbrace Road, Hartlepool.
