DESPITE appearances, they're not just clowning around down at the Netherlands National Circus.
The Dutch Big Top is in York, and will be thrilling and delighting audiences all week on Knavesmire.
Topping the bill will be David Vassallo, the circus's Clown of Clowns - seen here with his giant inflatable pal Silvio.
But there are a host of other acts to delight and amaze you too - including Miss Nives and her breathtaking ladder balancing act, Spiderman, the man who can walk in places the rest of us would never dare, BMX stunt-rider Rob Alton, the Manzos illusionists - and an amazing Russian Wheel Spectacular, the only one of its kind in the UK.
Circus spokeswoman Angie Hook said: "The big top is warm, the stage production is excellent, the animals have gone - and the acts have got real talent!"
