THOUSANDS of rail passengers have been flocking to take advantage of GNER's introductory £5 fare between York and London on its new White Rose service.
The new service - comprising of two as-new trains leased from Eurostar - was only launched last Tuesday but has seen more than 8,000 people buying tickets.
Company spokesman Alan Hyde said: "We have been delighted with the fantastic interest we have had from passengers between London and York.
"They're not just appreciating the bargain fare, but also the quality of the train, the comfortable ride and the excellent on-board service."
The £5 (£10 return) fare is available for travel anywhere on the GNER route between York and London until June 9. For reservations call 08457 225 225.
