NOAH appears to be rescuing his animals from the floodwaters of York
But this Noah only has stuffed animals and he is in fact the York actor who will be starring in the Mystery Plays which start as the end of the month.
Arnold Durham, 60, of Escrick, has lived in York for 40 years but this is the first time he has starred in York's special plays.
"I'm thrilled to be part of such a special event. I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience for actors and the audiences alike."
Arnold worked at Rowntree for 32 years and retired last year.
"My costume will be a bit different to these wellies and overcoat - but there will be lots of animals involved. I can't say much more because I don't want to spoil the surprise for everyone!"
Meanwhile, a car belonging to York Wasps rugby league club director Ken Hunter was still stuck in the River Ouse in York today.
The Astra estate was parked in Cumberland Street on Sunday night as players enjoyed a night out in Plonkers wine bar and bistro.
Two thousand households in Wheldrake, Elvington, Escrick and Crockey Hill were without power last night and early today due to a fault in a high voltage cable supplying a large area on the outskirts of York.
