ONE-TIME York City goalkeeper Mark Prudhoe will roll back the years next week in a six-a-side football tournament for ex-professionals aged over 35.

Prudhoe, who enjoyed a brief loan spell at Bootham Crescent in 1997, will figure in the Bradford City squad alongside Scarborough's Lee Sinnott to take on veterans from Sheffield United, Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday in the Fired Up Yorkshire Masters.

Played at Sheffield Arena on Wednesday, July 12, the Yorkshire competition is the fourth regional round of the Masters of Britain Series.

Lining up for the Blades will be Tony Agana, Glen Cockerill, John Pemberton, Kevin Gage, Billy Whitehurst and Glyn Hodges, while former York favourite Paul Stancliffe was originally pencilled in for the United side but will pssibly not feature.

The Bradford squad will also feature winger Mark Ellis and Peter Jackson, who was linked with the Bootham Crescent hot-seat following the departure of Neil Thompson.

Chris Woods, Chris Waddle, Mel Sterland, Imre Varadi, John Sheridan, Simon Stainrod and Mark Chamberlain are amongst those named in the Sheffield Wednesday team.

The Snodin brothers, Ian and Glynn, Bobby Davison, Chris Kamara, John McClelland, Ian Baird, Brian Flynn, and Brendan Ormsby are included in the Elland Road side's squad.

Chris Whyte, the central defensive partner of York's Chris Fairclough when Leeds won the Division One title in 1992, is also expected to feature.

The winners of the Yorkshire event will qualify for the Masters Football Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Arena on October 8.
