York on Sunday for York's Carnival 2000. I was on the McArthur Glen float and thoroughly enjoyed the day. I have played in many concerts with orchestras and bands, but have never appreciated quite such an ecstatic atmosphere before.
What made it absolutely fabulous were the many visitors to York and the local people who lined the streets and gave very positive support.
It was very encouraging to see so many people turn out on what was a dull day weather-wise. It really does instil faith that people are still interested in what is happening in their city.
