YOU just can't keep a good band down.

York rockers Shed Seven are back in business with a new record label, new material and new band member.

The line-up is now as follows; Rick Witter on vocals, Alan Leach, drums, Tom Gladwin, bass, Fraser Smith, keyboards and new lead guitarist, Joe Johnson, who was an original member, penning their early classic Dolphin.

The Sheds are currently in the studio recording new material for an as-yet untitled album which is scheduled for release early next year, by new independent label Artful Records.

A new single is pencilled in for this Autumn.

Enigmatic frontman, Rick Witter said: "I'm as happy as I've been for a long time with Shed Seven. It's like we've been reborn. We're getting quite a lot of good stuff down and everything is coming together very nicely. Musically the new material is not a massive departure, but rather a step up. We've been given a lot of artistic control by our label. They told us 'you write it and we'll sell it'.

Shed Seven will be appearing on the Radio One Evening Session Stage at the Leeds Festival Carling Weekend on August 28, along with Muse.
