Ground: Feethams

Capacity: 8,500

Last season: 11th

Manager: David Hodgson

Ins: Neil Aspin defender from Port Vale, free; Lee Nogan striker from Grimsby on a Bosman; Neil Heaney winger from Manchester City, free.

Outs: Mark Barnard defender to Doncaster Rovers; Steve Gaughan midfielder to Halifax Town, free.

Chances: Fuelled by big cash investment from millionaire businessman George Reynolds, who took over the club towards the back of last season. Plans have been announced for a new 25,000-seater stadium to be built on the outskirts of town to replace Feethams and cash has been made available to manager David Hodgson to beef up the squad. Hodgson has wasted no time in recruiting newcomers and the Quakers look likely to justify their tag as being one of the title favourites. Featuring no less than five former City players, the two meetings with the Minstermen willno doubt be keenly contested.

One to watch: Marco Gabbiadini. Linked up with the Quakers last season after being cut loose from a second spell at Bootham Crescent. The former England 'B' striker is a major threat in rivals' penalty-area as shown by his 24 League goals for Darlington.

Title odds: 5-1.
