Former York City Baths Club swimmer Caroline Foot has failed to earn selection for the Great Britain Olympics swim team.
It was no surprise for the 35-year-old, pictured left, who had finished in fourth place in the Sydney Games trials at Sheffield a fortnight ago.
Despite winning the British 50 metres butterfly title in a time of 27.73 seconds, her failure to impress in the trials rendered her chances of a third Olympics appearance extremely slim and she was not selected in the team which was announced last night.
