YORK City will not be stepping up their interest in Reading full-back Neville Stamp - for the time being at least.
The teenage left-back has featured in City's last two reserve matches having spent the last couple of weeks training with the Minstermen.
York manager Terry Dolan said he had been impressed by Stamp's showing but felt he could not justify adding another face to his 27-strong senior squad.
"I have spoken to his agent and I was quite pleased with what I saw but with the number of players we have got in the squad at the moment I cannot add anyone else to the squad," said Dolan.
"But I have said I will keep my eye on him and for a 19-year-old lad I thought he did okay."
Stamp would be available on a free from Reading, where he is on a week-to-week contract.
