A 17-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an alleged serious sexual assault in the grounds of a church.
The incident is alleged to have happened at around 1.30am on Saturday when a woman in her thirties claims she was attacked in the grounds of a Methodist Church in the Princess Royal Road and Harewood Road area of Ripon.
A 17-year-old local man is being questioned at Harrogate Police Station but witnesses, including anyone who may have seen a young man come home looking dishevelled or being out of breath, are asked to call 01423 539312.
