FURTHER to my letter published on Saturday, I was pleased to see the lights and cones dismantled on Saturday, and I thought how marvellous, the power of the press.
On Sunday afternoon, however, as Richard Wilson would say "I don't believe it", they were reinstated. I understand that they had broken down on Saturday showing red both ways and causing long tailbacks.
After phoning round to find who was responsible, from the council to the water board and finally Transco, someone came to dismantle them. Since traffic flowed freely on Saturday afternoon and all Sunday morning without problems, why reinstate them?
